The aim of the Healing Space course is to assist qualified yoga teachers and other suitably qualified professionals, in developing the skills, knowledge and qualities to teach yoga, meditation, relaxation and yoga nidra to people living with cancer. The content will also be relevant to working with people with other long-term or life-limiting health conditions or in palliative care.

Course Content
The course will include a blend of self-paced online learning and live in-person classes (on Zoom)
Overview of Cancer
- An introduction to the science of cancer
- Types of cancer, causes and risk factors
- Treatments: Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other treatments and their side effects
- The psychological impact of living with a cancer diagnosis and coping with treatments
- The social and spiritual impact of living with a cancer diagnosis
Adapting yoga
- The yogic view of disease and illness
- The benefits of yoga for cancer including some of the scientific evidence
- Contraindications and cautions
- Movement and Asana
- The breath and pranayama
- Relaxation

Cost: £695
Includes all weekends, access to online learning materials, a 1 to 1 tutorial with Jude, assessment and certification.
Open to qualified yoga teachers who hold a 200-hour certificate.
This training can be used as 40 hours towards the 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training Certificate with Shantcentre Training School
